Michelle Bartel, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Co-Chaplain

 

Michelle Bartel joined the department in 2001. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Calvin College, and an M.Div. and Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary. She has taught at the New Brunswick Theological Seminary and at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD, and she has served the Wildflower Presbyterian Church in Sioux Falls as the theologian in residence and supply pastor. Rev. Dr. Bartel is the author of What it Means to be Human, a book in the Foundations of Christian Faith series. Her research interests include discernment, providence, vocation, and eschatology. Rev. Dr. Bartel is an ordained minister of the Presbyterian Church, USA.
